Generosity of grace and mercy. ❤️ In today’s

Generosity of grace and mercy. ❤️ In today’s gospel, we see the parable of the workers in the vineyard. All workers have been given the same wage for working different hours in the same vineyard.
Many of the workers grumbled against the justice of this action. The landowner, being a man of generosity, says “Are you envious because I am generous?”

This gospel speaks to the kingdom of heaven. The Lord’s mercy and grace is extended to all. Whether you have been a faithful “laborer” for many years working the fields or whether you are “late” to the fields, Salvation is extended to all. God grants us all salvation if we chose Him and we live our lives changed because of who He is. To fully possess our faith is to be transformed. Let us not grow frustrated by the years we have wasted, but eagerly await our wages of heaven. St Augustine said “too late have I loved you.” He knew that he was “late to the fields” but he lived his life changed after coming to see Christianity as the true religion. 💕
“Are you envious because I am generous?” I believe Jesus also asks us this question when we question His generosity towards others. Are there times when the Lord chooses to bountifully bless someone and we grow envious of their blessing? Maybe our deeper wound is a lie that the Lord is blessing others and not us. Maybe we believe the lie that we are not seen and that the Lord is holding out on us. Let us rest in the belief that the Lord’s generosity extends to us and pray for eyes to see the areas of our lives where his generosity is evident. ❤️

Transformed. ❤️Changed. ❤️
I have always loved the call on this Bible verse for transformation. Paul’s letter to the Romans is a reminder that they are not to conform themselves to what is happening around them. It’s so easy for us to get caught up in what the world tells us our priorities are. Paul reminds us that we have a higher calling that involves being changed/transformed by the renewal of our mind. 🤯 For our mind to be “renewed”, we need to be in constant study: a student of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that can help our minds transcend the limitations that we have in insight and clarity. The Holy Spirit can gift us with discernment, as we learn to take every thought captive, and bring it before the Lord. We can pray: Lord, where are you asking me to think outside of my normal thoughts? Where are you asking me to change my perspective, and to renew my eternal vision? Where are you giving me eyes to see a path that is not flavored by this life?
