Happy Thursday! Well…I had technical difficultie Happy Thursday! Well…I had technical difficulties so this was the second video I started…so we just picked up with the Gospel. ❤️
Today’s theme is the Lord as the Rock and a firm foundation for us. 🪨 He alone is our refuge.
In Isaiah, he is praising the city of Judah, and acknowledging the virtues of that city. We can look at that reading and ponder those four virtues in our own life. Do we embrace trust, humility, faith, and righteousness? Where is God asking us to ponder these virtues in our life?
In Matthew, Jesus reminds us that a foundation built upon the Lord can buffet any storm, wind, flooding or rain.
This is such a great reminder that the Lord does not tell us that we can avoid any of those elements, but that we can tackle them with the Lord as our foundation. We will not be desolate. We will be challenged and stretched but not overcome!
That is a tremendous relief for anyone who feels the buffets of those elements to know that there will be an end in sight. God can not be outdone in His care for us and protection. ❤️
As the body of Christ, we can also walk alongside each other when we’re experiencing those elements that seem to overwhelm us such as the wind and the flooding that is discussed in Matthew. We can remind each other that we run this race for eternity together. ❤️

“It’s your breath in our lungs!” Starting of “It’s your breath in our lungs!” Starting off this morning with a little worship.💕
Today’s readings remind us that we have a God who can take the little things that we have, and turn them into big blessings in our lives if we give him permission. In Isaiah, we are reminded of the hope that is eternal life in Zion, eternal life with our Lord. Where there is no sadness or suffering, but only abundance of life. In Matthew, Jesus is moved with pity in his humanity for the physical needs of the crowd. They have followed him as he has satiated their spiritual hunger but now their earthly bodies require nourishment. It tells us in this reading that Jesus asked them what they had to offer and he took their loaves and fishes and he multiplied it. He multiplied it not just until they were satisfied, but in abundance, so that there was plenty left over. ❤️
We serve a God of abundance! He doesn’t require that you have baskets and baskets of fish and loaves, because he knows of your littleness. But what he does ask is that you give him what you have so that he can bless it.
Where are you holding back your loaves and fishes for fear that it’s not enough? Where do you need that reminder today that the Lord just needs you to offer your time, your talents, your love, your hands and feet to a situation so he can bring multiple blessings from it?
May our prayer today be empty hands as we have given all we have over to the King to bless it and multiply it.

Happy Monday! We serve a king that we are complete Happy Monday! We serve a king that we are completely unworthy of. ❤️ As we enter this first week of advent, we acknowledge our need for a savior and wait in anticipation of his birth.
In Isaiah 2:1-5, we are reminded the the kingdom of God is Zion, the highest mountain. Isaiah is addressing the supremacy of the Kingdom of God above all others.
In Matthew 8:5-11, the centurion acknowledges that same authority in Christ when he asks Jesus to heal his servant. He recognizes that He is not worthy of Christ entering his home, but his care for his servant is paramount.
Where has God deepened your faith through your care for another? Where is He calling you to to open your heart to Him in a new way this Advent?
Lord, make us holy. ❤️

Happy Feast of St Andrew! Where is God asking you Happy Feast of St Andrew! Where is God asking you to be more faithful in your love for Him? Where is He asking you to spread the “good news” of your faith in your families and communities?
Romans 10:9-18 reminds us that our faith is open to everyone but “how can they hear without someone to preach”? (Romans 10:14) It’s hard to believe that some people still do not know who Christ is and have never encountered Him. ❤️ Let us always be willing to be a voice and champion of our faith.

Matthew 4:18-22 reminds us of the origins of St Andrew as an apostle. He left everything to pursue a life as an apostle for Christ. He may not have known the cost, initially, but I am overwhelmed thinking of what it must have been like to be “seen” by Christ. What must it have been like to hold His gaze?
Today..let us boldly declare to live with more courage and faith!
