As the “perfect” Christmas reels emerge, I want to share a peek of one of our years decorating cookies. When I watch a reel like this, it invokes so many memories that can put me right back in that spot decorating with the kids. If we take the pressure off how activities are supposed to look because of social media, we can start being truly present in moments and not be concerned about the way they look. We learn to be more present to our families which is the greatest gift we can offer! ❤️

Do I understand charity? How is the Lord asking me to change my view of charitable giving? ❤️
It’s so much easier to be charitable to those who we don’t view as peers. Our peers….we judge their needs. 😬We wrestle with how to give without doing “too much” or “overstepping”. We question what our “duty” is and what is “thoughtful” or “charitable enough”.
While our peers, they struggle with how to ask for help. They struggle with appearing “needy” or looking “less than” in our eyes. It’s so much easier to be in a position to give, than to receive. Having our hands out in a position of receiving requires vulnerability and humility.
Can we try and anticipate, in love, the needs of those closest to us? Can we pray for holy encounters where we have open eyes and ears to see and hear the needs of others?
Our hearts need to connect with our minds. We need the Lord to transform how our mind processes the stirrings of the Spirit. Lord, where are you asking me to show up for someone in my life? How can I show up with as little attention on myself as possible?? How can I, through prayer and discernment “anticipate the needs” of another by
“not growing slack in zeal, but be fervent in spirit” ? Romans 12: 10-11
Lord, help me to lean into charity…..and give with love. ❤️
